Delivery Setup
The complexity of transformation delivery teams today means getting delivery set-up right is paramount. Delivery teams have increasingly become:
- virtual with a small number of dedicated resource;
- reliant on larger numbers of resources ‘borrowed’ from the front line of the business who are still responsible for their day jobs;
- users of ‘internal suppliers’ HR and IT that have competing priorities; and
- external support, in the form of the large general management consultancies as well as smaller players with specialist areas.
The Yare team are experienced in managing these different dynamics and are often cited for excelling at bringing diverse teams together in a way that creates untied buy-in, focus, results as well as a little fun.
We do credit our delivery approach, style and just plain hard work in making this happen, but equally we recognise the importance of Delivery Set-up.
The Yare team use the Yare Delivery Set-up Method™ as a toolkit for making sure that all elements of set-up are completed in a way that the programme will be successful. This includes:
- establishing the governance and reporting structure;
- defining the core and distributed delivery delivery team structure;
- clarifying roles, responsibilities and accountabilities;
- embedding ways of working that the entire delivery team understand and can work by; and
- rolling out pragmatic tools for the entire team to use.
